Thank you for visiting my profile. I am passionate about the work I do with individuals and families within the home, school, and community. My counseling approach is educational and supportive. I aim to help young clients and their families utilize their resources and skills to overcome challenges. My goal in therapy is to educate throughout the process of therapy and offer support to overcome obstacles. I aim to teach long-term coping skills, build insight, motivate self-learning, and encourage independence. Thankfully, there are "tools" available to help us redirect our attention, anxieties, and strengths in appropriate ways.

I am a licensed internationally & board certified trauma therapist specializing in child & adolescent psychological trauma, behavioral & mood disorders. My training includes outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, & schools. I have also worked with juvenile delinquency, at-risk youths, adults struggling with trauma, & some Spanish speaking youths.

Outside my clinical work I maintain an online blog through PsychCentral (blogs.psychcentral.com/caregivers) and Youtube which offers psycho-education on personality and relationships, counseling, psychological trauma, severe mental illness, behavioral disorders, psychotic disorders including delusional thinking patterns, and managing childhood trauma.

Girls EART Group

Girls EART (Encourage, Accept, Restore, Trust) Group is a summer therapeutic group for adolescent girls between the ages of 14 to 19. The group runs biweekly for 3 months (June, July, & August). Crossroads: Counseling For Parents

Crossroads is a new group effort for parents of children, teens, or adult children with mental health and behavioral problems. Groups focus extensively on the challenges faced with psychological and emotional trauma, parent-child conflict, severe mental illness and other mental health conditions, complicated family dynamics, and a confusing mental health system. Groups occur each year, 1 time a month, for 3 months (Sept, Oct, and Nov). The goal of each therapist-led group is to empower, educate, restore, and re-build parents who are feeling hopeless, discouraged, confused, and frustrated. *(NOT CURRENTLY ACCPETING NEW CLIENTS FOR THIS GROUP.
