My practice is geared towards adults and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, family or relationship problems. I also work with issues surrounding parenthood and reclaiming identity and creating balance. I specialize in both brief solution-focused therapy as well as longer-term insight oriented therapy for those working through a wide variety of problems related to moods, relationships, physical, emotional & life circumstances. I work with couples of all kinds, including Interfaith, Intercultural and Interracial Couples, facilitating productive communication around sensitive issues, as do my 2 Interns, Mary Z & Beth F
The last 18 years I have been developing expertise in a variety of clinical settings, the AIDS Health Project at UCSF, and University Counseling Centers, such as Stanford University, USF, and Augsburg, and finally, a two year post-doctoral fellowship at the Hamm Clinic to deepen my practice with intensive Psychodynamic training.
I employ a combination of psychodynamic thinking to address unhealthy relationship patterns, cognitive behavioral techniques to challenge unproductive thought patterns & mindfulness to bring awareness and ease, all to allow for a more compassionate & joyful worldview. I have two amazing pre-licensed interns beginning late August if you would like to get in!
