The past few years have led to major increases in stress, social isolation and depression or anxiety, and collective trauma (often leaving an unequal burden on Black, Indigenous, and other people of color). This may make it difficult to find joy, experience pleasure, and be active participants in our own lives. I provide evidenced-based supportive therapy for trans and LGBTQ+ young people (14 years+) and young adults (18-30s) experiencing anxiety, depression, or difficulty adjusting to significant life events.
I have special training and substantial experience working with TGN folks. I understand the unique and frightening threats towards TGN people happening in our country and around the world today. The impact of these threats include and move far beyond access to life-saving medical care. Threats to our wellbeing affect our ability to be our whole selves.
I consider the ways trauma may be contributing to you or your child’s current behavior and I utilize a wide range of evidence-based approaches to problem-solving. My integrative approach is informed by CBT, family-systems, mindfulness, DBT, and biofeedback (the way our body and nervous system respond to stress).
