I approach my work using a client-centered, strengths-based model. I view every individual/family/couple as unique, utilizing methods and techniques best-suited for each situation. My experience includes many areas, all pertaining to individuals, couples and families. I am passionate in working with women, teens, couples and the LGBTQ community. I was trained in Family Systems Therapy; I approach therapy work holistically, focusing on the individual and extending beyond, to the interactions between family members and significant others. I work with clients to help them recognize how extended family, culture, and society may impact them as individuals.
I am currently working towards gaining my credential as a certified sex-therapist. Whether sex/sexuality is the focus, or you are just looking for more intimacy in your relationship(s), I provide a safe space for promoting conversation and understanding around human sexuality and healthy sexual behavior. It can be harmful to provide relationship and marriage counseling while ignoring the topic of sex and intimacy as a means of connection and pleasure. I welcome it as a topic of discussion, exploration and focus.
I welcome you, all of you -- I strive to provide a place where issues around sexual intimacy and function can be openly discussed. Issues and concerns regarding sexuality, sex, sexual identity are natural and a part of our human experience! Sadly, these are often viewed as taboo, and I want to change that by creating a sex-positive world. I strive to provide a setting that destigmatizes sex and that leads to healthy, quality relationships and lives.
