Hi! My name is Sydney and I am happy you're here. I never know what to write in these, but I'll start by saying the boring things. My concentration for my social work degree was mental health and trauma. Because of this, I approach therapy in a trauma-informed way and like to get to know the whole of a person and what makes them unique.
I have experience working in a psychiatric hospital setting, transplant clinics, community mental health agencies, and doing individual, group, and couples counseling. I have a lot of experience working with individuals who have depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma-related disorders.
More interesting information is that I am a pretty relaxed therapist that attempts to create a safe, warm, and peaceful space to be in. I utilize humor quite a bit within practice and enjoy hearing about each facet of your life (even photos of your pets, partners, art projects, etc.!).
