My first experience with a therapist was in college. I was a first-generation college student, immigrant from Fiji, and grew up in a small town. Transitioning to adult life and assimilating to a new culture was painfully difficult. My therapist, such a kind soul, created a safe, supportive and nurturing environment that led me on a journey of self-discovery, acceptance and gratitude. I attempt to create a similar environment in my practice using strength-based, client centered and solution focused strategies. While I use a wide range of evidenced based treatment modalities, the therapeutic alliance is the most important to me.
I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, families and parents of young children. I have over 10+ years of experience in the field with experience working in school based settings, crisis stabilization, outpatient, and community mental health centers. I provide compassionate and personalized care, addressing a range of mental health issues.
