Therapy is guided self-exploration. Often, we repeat patterns because the emotional wounds suffered as children are being replayed in our adult life. We have a subconscious fear of experiencing feelings of abandonment and this drives codependent patterns of relating. Repeated neglect of yourself to get validation from an external being is the definition of codependency. You can break this cycle of trauma bonding and devote yourself to YOU.
I am passionate about building a safe space for clients to explore their journey. My empathic nature and Buddhist practice help clients feel empowered to examine, observe, and overcome obstacles. Perspective is everything. Problems are opportunities. Our beliefs around our issues shape our competence in tackling them.
I help clients accept themselves by meeting where they are in their journey toward self-growth. I enjoy working with adults, couples, and teenagers with an emphasis on mindfulness, self-acceptance, inner child work, and coping skills training. I'm an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (134677) with a master's from Pepperdine University.
