We're living through such stressful times, it can be hard to function our best. As our coping skills are stretched thin, struggles once successfully dealt with may become stronger than we can manage. Relationship issues can intensify as tending to our own discomfort takes more energy, leaving less to offer our partner. On top of all this, navigating the mental health world to find a therapist who "gets you" is a chore unto itself! I'm happy to help, if you feel we might be a good fit. I use a combination of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic work (TRM) to help empower, heal, and bring you more fully back to yourself.
IFS is a method of exploring the parts of us that can feel overwhelming or in conflict with one another. The work is gentle, intuitive and respectful, and offers deep healing to old, buried wounds that can show up as anger, sadness, disconnection, anxiety, and cravings. Helping to keep the nervous system regulated as we go along can be deeply empowering.
I believe we all want to heal and in our own way, attempt to do so. I liken this to how plants intuitively know to turn toward the sun. Sometimes the light is blocked and we need a little help finding and clearing the obstacle. The work I do honors your 'inner turning' while helping you loosen and clear that which has kept you stuck.
