I provide therapy for individuals, couples and families, and have experience with issues that are typically encountered by people at some point in their lifetime - sadness, worry, grief, loss, and relationship difficulties. I also specialize in working with children, who often express emotional issues through difficult/challenging behaviors.
My approach to therapy integrates the unique aspects of a client's lived experiences with evidence informed knowledge of how people can change. I believe when we increase our understanding of how our brain, body, and emotions work together to respond to life stressors, we can make changes that improve our well being.
I have received training and experience in diverse settings, including UCSD Family Medicine and Pediatrics, where I worked collaboratively as a marriage and family therapist in medical offices with physicians to provide therapy to patients experiencing both medical and emotional issues.
