The relationship between the therapist and client is the most important predictor of a successful experience in counseling. I treat adults, adolescents, and couples who are experiencing difficulty with anxiety, depression, addiction, divorce, relationships, anger, loss and trauma. I engender an environment of trust and support for clients in a safe, therapeutic atmosphere where clients can feel comfortable discussing personal issues. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and motivational enhancement, as well as protocols for addiction, including smoking cessation.
Individuals today are asked to endure increasing stress at work and at home. Coping mechanisms which may have worked in the past, may not be as effective due to increasing demands. My focus is on assisting clients to develop more effective coping strategies, leading to a more productive, happier life.
