Hello! My name is Susan Nakaweesa. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor having attained a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University in 2019. I have over 15 years of experience working with adolescents in the teaching profession and two years in the Workforce Development program. I am a certified parenting education instructor and certified in maternal mental health counseling. I love working with children and adults overcome their distress and other concerns that destabilize their mental health and well-being, and collaborate with my clients too formulate treatment suitable for their concerns.
I work with children 8 and above, and adults through anxiety and depression with a focus on trauma and crisis as well as prenatal and postnatal depression in mothers. My approaches are evidence based and eclectic, tailored to meet the unique needs of each of my clients. Among these approaches are reality therapy, strength-based therapy, and CBT therapies.
Life can be bumpy and tough. Often times, we may be surrounded by loved ones, friends and colleagues but still feel extremely lonely, sad, worried and depressed. The good news is you do not have to walk this journey alone. I am committed to walking this journey with you if you let me.
