As a Cultural Psychologist and a Licensed Counselor, I have provided psychotherapy services to a wide range of clients for over 19 years. I specialize in seeing a client's strengths. My counseling style is warm and interactive, with occasional humor. I believe in treating people with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach is customized to meet the unique and specific needs of my clients. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am a humble, creative person who has had training in cultural and clinical psychology, in the context of my varied life experiences. Over the years I have developed my understanding, and I use skills and tools to help empower clients to move in a forward direction.
Currently I use Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapy, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and other treatment approaches. I try to be a supportive, encouraging, non-judgmental listener. Some of my clients have commented that I am a safe person with a calming and kind presence.
