My name is Summer, and my areas of practice include substance use disorder, addictions, trauma, depression, anxiety and change of life stressors. I am also passionate about providing care to children and adolescents. I am a mother of two and have volunteered working with children in the past. I believe early intervention may promote better coping, resiliency and hope for the future. I earned both my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Lagrange College.
I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and tailor it to meet each individual's needs. I am a firm believer that our thoughts and perceptions have an impact on the way that we cope and feel about painful and stressful events /experiences in our lives.
By working towards a different thought process, we become more resilient and are better equipped to navigate the challenges in our lives. Through a collaborative effort, we can work towards a goal of overall wellness and improved quality of life.
