I am a multi-degreed licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) in Michigan. The goal is to assist my clients in working through issues that negatively affect them in their daily lives. I work with clients who may be struggling with depression or trauma related to their relationships or family. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement afterward.
I use a salutogenic approach to therapy, using various techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy informed, psychoeducation, gestalt, and existential therapies. I am a trauma specialist.
The primary factor for successful therapeutic outcomes IS the relationship between the client and the therapist. This relationship, like all relationships, grows and sustains itself through a combination of safety, trust, and commitment. That is our aim and fortunately has become the standard for all client interactions.
