As a former cult member, I help people and their families who have been "unduly influenced." I am committed to helping people reclaim their personal power. I wrote four books including Freedom of Mind, Combating Cult Mind Control, and The Cult of Trump. My online courses include Understanding Cults: A Foundational Course. I help people from all over the world who have found that mental health professionals unless they are specialized in treating cult members, are at best a waste of time and resources, and worse, do further harm. A large part of my practice is short term work with former members.
I have been licensed since 1991 and taken training programs in cognitive-behavioral techniques, strategic and structural family therapy, couples therapy, Internal Family Systems, Secure Attachment therapeutic approaches, and hypnotherapy (I am member of Asch.net and ISH). Short-term, solution-focused, and positive psychology oriented.
I am based in Newton, Massachusetts, but do consultations via the telephone, Zoom, and Google Meet. I travel to see clients who can afford to bring me to them, but most people come to Boston for a week or two to work intensively with me.
