How does one eat an elephant? "One bite at a time." I will assist with defining/understanding your elephant, with finding the best place to start and I'll support you along the way. I've worked extensively with and understand the issues of individuals/spouses/families of city workers (police, fire, etc.) and others dealing with anxiety, depression, anger management issues, addictions, trauma & situational stress, and life transitions. I specialize in individual therapy and I'm trained in CBT and as an art therapist who specializes in helping other tap their creative powers and in find balance in living creatively.
I'm a personable therapist w/ 30+ yrs experience. Although I'm virtual only, I've practiced on Chicago's south side since 1996. My working class, practicality-based background informs my approach of getting to understand WHY what we do & feel is important and necessary for real change. I strive to help others line a full, balanced and creative life.
I'm proud of my vast experience working with diverse populations, and creatives, at various life stations and in many settings. I've been a trainer/consultant and counseling professor and I'm an artist/musician. I co-host a creativity, balance & self-help podcast with a fellow NYC Art Therapist/counselor called Kites and Strings (www.kitesandstrings.com)
