My ideal client is one who experiences persistent sadness and hopelessness, excessive worrying, irritability and/or guilt related to the recent loss of a personal relationship, loss of interest/pleasure in activities once enjoyed, excessive guilt pertaining to their actions/behaviors, difficulty concentrating, needs emotional support in a non-judgemental environment, wants to reconnect with family/friends, and someone who wants to start enjoying life more by decreasing anxiety, sadness, worry, guilt and worthlessness while increasing time spent with loved ones, positive activities/interests, and becoming more social.
I can help by identifying trust with my clients then exploring their trauma history, family dynamics, and any personal issues that may be contributing to their need for therapy. I provide psycho-education, assist with goal setting, and help my clients recognize that while they may not think so, their needs are 'normal' and deserve support.
I create a non-judgemental and empathic environment where I work on building empathy by actively listening and showing a genuine interest in my clients' concerns and emotions. I let them know that therapy is not a sign of weakness but rather a step to personal growth and well-being. I emphasize that my clients are not alone in their therapeutic journey.
