SOCIAL MEDIATOR-THERAPIST: Social Mediation lends third party neutral support to prepare and empower family members to have a voice; and to prepare to heal the raw wounds of relationship conflict, betrayal and broken trust; Social mediation addresses some of the following problems: Depression, anxiety, alcohol abuse, abuse of prescription medication, trauma, alienation in marriage, family, or community, divorce, narcissism, sex addiction, partners’ trauma, shame, gaslighting, betrayal and broken trust, restoring trust, and revitalizing sexual intimacy, conflict over parenting; and adult child issues over parents’ elder care.
Stephen studied social treatment in the School of Social Work of the University of Michigan; and went on to study law in the School of Law of the University of Detroit-Mercy. He developed an effective approach to manage and resolve family conflict known as social mediation. He is a Secular Franciscan; and is inspired by the Franciscan peace movement.
Social Mediation helps all members of the family manage conflict when mental health issues may potentially get involved in the legal system; to understand its influence on behavior. Law enforcement and courts are either unwelcome intruders into the family system; or are sought out by the family system for protection and to get help, or to get even!
