I am a licensed clinical psychologist with 15 years of experience helping people to work through painful and habitual obstacles to achieving their life goals.These obstacles may take the form of symptoms like depression and anxiety or may be related to loss or trauma. I use a direct and interactive approach to help clients clarify the source of their emotional pain, as well as to apply strategies to minimize their negative behavior patterns. I also encourage self-reflection so that such problems are less likely to recur in the future.
In addition to working closely with clients to manage symptoms of depression and anxiety, I specialize in treating trauma, self-isolatiing behavior, and addictive behavior.
I find that the rigorous requirements of urban life can cause individuals to become isolated within themselves. I gear my clinical technique toward helping clients to find ways out of this isolation, and have also done research and published articles on this topic in Contemporary Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Dialogues.
