Hello! I am Stacy Leo a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) whose work has focused on the prevention and treatment of child and family traumatic stress. I received formal training in trauma informed care, child welfare, strengths-based therapy, treatment for behavioral and mental disorders as well as motivational interviewing. My areas of expertise include family and group dynamics; early childhood development; the impact of illness, trauma, or injury on the individual family; biological, psychological and social development; diversity and cultural competency; as well as interpersonal relationships.
I have extensive experience working with military families to include individual therapy, family therapy and couple's therapy. I also work extensively with at-risk youth experiencing severe behavioral and/or mental health challenges. I provide individual, family, and couples therapy.
I first like to build rapport and get to know my client. From there, I utilize cognitive behavioral techniques to identify therapy goals the client would like to work towards based on self-report and symptoms and/or challenges being presented. Lastly, I assist my clients in identifying small action steps to work towards larger SMART goals.
