I am looking for clients who are experiencing challenges in their life and are open to trying something new to make a change. That something new might be a behavior or adopting a new perspective. I am especially interested in the Black population who are navigating the world as a minority and others who would like to deepen their understanding of different cultures. I spent 17 years working with college students who had myriad reasons for coming to therapy; everything from homesickness to suicidal intent.
I work in partnership with my clients. I believe that they are the experts on their lives, and together with my professional experience, we work through their concerns together. My style is active. If we find one thing that makes us smile/laugh then we are doing okay.
I believe that even in our darkest days there is alway an exception; something positive from which to build. I have learned strength and resiliency from my experiences and I hope you will too. If you are new to therapy, think of it as an opportunity to focus on you and your chances to improve your life. If that sounds good, then please reach out. Thank you!
