My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, nurturing and nonjudgmental environment in which my clients can openly express their emotional needs and find solutions to the challenges life brings. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years experience specializing in preteens, adolescents, young adults and families. I have helped clients with anxiety, depression, parenting concerns, low self esteem, bullying, relationship and peer issues, academic issues, loss and divorce I believe the most success in therapy comes from focusing on the individual's needs and building on their strengths.
Counseling clients cannot be a "one size fits all " approach. Combining effective treatment modalities is important in my work. After a thorough assessment and determining the client's needs the following treatment options many be utilized; cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused and strength based therapy, parenting education, family therapy and mindfulness techniques.
In addition to being a licensed therapist, I am a teacher trained yoga practitioner. I have been doing yoga for over 10 years and believe there is a true correlation to the mind body connection. I will often utilize mindfulness and yoga techniques into my practice.
