She attended The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and graduated with a double major in Psychology and Religious Studies. She received her Master's Degree in Psychology with a specialty in Professional Counseling and began working as a psychotherapist. She is a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor, Master Addiction Counselor, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, National Certified Counselor, Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor, and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. She is a part of LPCA-GA, GACA, and NAADAC.

After many years of experience in sport. Starting out as a youth and working my way through the ranks of amateur, Division I student-athlete, and ultimately a professional athlete, I can relate to the many pressures athletes and other competitive individuals face. Hi there, I’m Alex! Starting therapy can be daunting experience. It’s important to find a therapist that you feel comfortable with and is the right fit for your needs. I believe that providing a safe, non-judgmental space for others to truly be themselves and explore their inner world is an authentically beautiful and healing experience. Life gets hard, and you don’t have to journey alone! I believe cultural sensitivity is crucial in a healthy therapeutic relationship. I thoroughly enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and other populations that may experience cultural impacts on their mental health.

My focus is on meeting each person where they are at; seeing their uniqueness and strengths and using these as the foundations for bringing about desired change, acceptance, and helping one see their own strengths. I have a variety of tools in my therapeutic "tool box" and strive to use the tools/techniques that resonate most for each individual. For some it may be a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach or Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), others Mindfulness, and still others spirituality, somatic work, imagery, or art process may resonate... usually it is a combination of several.

My client may have difficulties adjusting to to life transitions or have difficulties managing stress overall. My client may feel underappreciated and undercompensated with work/life demand and need support through different life transitions. My client may be experiencing active mental health symptoms impacting their ability to function at home, on the job, and/or in the community. Lastly, my clients want to feel supported by someone who works in the professional field and values self-care.
