Psychotherapy is a powerful process that can alleviate suffering, increase self understanding and lead to greater fulfillment in life. My approach to therapy is compassionate and collaborative. I have over 20 years of experience helping people get relief of symptoms and lead fuller lives. I previously worked at the University of Pennsylvania, where I served a diverse population with a wide range of psychological difficulties. I bring into my current private practice a wealth of clinical experience, a rich and deep understanding of human nature and our innate struggles, and tools to grow and experience more joy in life.
I was trained primarily in psychodynamic psychotherapy, and work with individuals and couples. I create a safe environment to explore painful material, increase awareness and improve functioning. I have extensive experience in helping women through their difficulties associated with life stages, as well as with people coping with chronic illness and medically challenging circumstances.
As a psychologist at U. of Penn I worked as a clinician in the Department of Psychiatry as well as a therapist in NIMH funded research trials. Together, these experiences taught me to appreciate diversity, be flexible and attentive to individual needs and strengths, and remain goal oriented and focused.
