Clients come to me with concerns, including anxiety, depression, family conflict, and struggles with intimacy. They feel stuck, angry with those around them, or caught in destructive patterns of behavior, yet they cannot seem to understand why. The relationship we build during treatment is a powerful tool to address these patterns that you feel unable to escape. Psychotherapy provides you space to safely explore these issues and work towards changing the patterns. I help my clients develop an appreciation for their life and work. Together we will explore the uncomfortable feelings and behaviors that prevent inner fulfillment, pursuit of goals, and overall life satisfaction.
My approach is collaborative, interactive and individualized. I work from a humanistic, egalitarian and interpersonal perspective that focus on your relational experiences, and how they connect to your problems and symptoms in the present. My clients work towards developing greater self-awareness, and an appreciation for who they are individually and in relation to others.
I am an experienced psychotherapist with advanced training in psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, advanced trauma training and trauma symptomatology. Black Men's Only Trauma Group
The Black Men's Only Trauma Group is a group specifically for Black men that have a history of childhood sexual abuse or sexual abuse as an adult. Individuals that are considered for group participation must be in weekly on-going individual psychotherapy for at least 2 years, and meet with me for consultation for a minimum of 3 individual sessions before entering the group.
