I work with adults who are struggling with aging issues and caregivers of older adults experiencing caregiver stress and burnout with a focus on depression and anxiety, employment stress, relationship issues, anticipatory grief, as complicated grief with regard to loss of family or pets. I have years of experience working with the elderly on aging issues, illness, loss of ability, and difficulty adjusting to end of life issues – experienced by not only the elderly but for the family as well. I have extensive work history with geriatric and adult mental illness, hospice, and geriatric health.
Having worked in the field of geriatrics for years, as well as being a "seasoned practictioner" myself, I have come to understand the impact that grief and loss has not only on us as individuals but on family systems as a whole. This feeling of struggle and loss not only encompasses the loss of family members but of our cherished pets as well.
