Hi, I am a psychotherapist with 20+ years of experience in the mental health field. For the past 10+ years, I have specialized in working with trauma survivors with diverse backgrounds, including gender identity, age, racial/ethnicity, and sexual orientation. I have been trained in various treatment modalities, including CBT, DBT, Sandtray therapy modality, play therapy, EMDR, Crisis Intervention, and recently Somatic Experiencing. As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, my works focus on helping clients overcome past trauma by establishing a sense of safety within the body, emotional regulation, and nervous system stabilization.
The foundation for helping my clients is a safe therapeutic connection and space. As a somatic-based therapist, I recognize that trauma is not merely an event but what the individual holds inside due to the traumatic event.
Therefore, my focus in supporting the client with processing the trauma is to help the client build capacity and resilience in overcoming the elevated distress and other post-trauma responses.
