Hello Everyone! My name is Shelby Quilling! I work primarily with children and teenagers, as well as any age adult that has experienced childhood or complex trauma. To me, trauma can mean any event that has caused disruption to your daily life/functioning. My goal is to help those who have been through challenging experiences and who have a desire to work through these experiences. This may be seen as but is not limited to relationship conflicts, spacing/zoning out, anxiety/depressive symptoms, at-risk behaviors, flashbacks/nightmares, difficulties managing emotions, or troubles with basic functioning such as eating/sleeping.
My specialty as a therapist lies within trauma treatment and approaches that I offer are specific to those needs. I am EMDR certified as well as an EMDRIA approved consultant in training. EMDR is my primary approach to treatment however, I bring in other modalities in which I am trained such as: IFS, Brain Spotting, Mindfulness, DBT skills, and CBT.
My approach apart from my trained professional areas lies within the relationship that is created between myself and my client. In my experience, the relationship built serves as the foundation and this is what is most important to me. I consider myself genuine, positive, & truly client-centered. I see myself to be an honored part of my clients' journey.
