Most conflict involves relationship: a relationship with ourselves, our parents, our children, our lovers, our bosses, our co-workers. This is the one area where education fails us. We inhabit an adult body with a child's knowledge of how to interact with the world and ourselves and that is where a therapist's knowledge can be beneficial. "Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it" (Rumi). I can help a client find and diminish those barriers.
I don't believe in judging others by some fixed moral code. Life is hard and we do what we have to survive and adapt. I am here to help my clients change destructive adaptative patterns to positive ones and to help make their lives and self esteem better.
Therapy should be a safe place to tell your story and discover your hopes, dreams and fears; a place to make changes in your life and to laugh as well as cry. It is my job to be your guide and keep you safe.
