I am Sharon Sonko, LCSW-C and I have been a Clinical Social Worker and a State of Maryland Social Work Supervisor for over 10 years. I began my practice while working in Child Welfare with Maryland's state government and later elevated to the federal government with Veterans Affairs. When I am not offering therapy to clients, I spend my free time outdoors enjoying walking meditations along some of Maryland's historical trails. I enjoy working with adult from various backgrounds that are struggling with issues that include but are not limited to Anxiety, Depression, Trauma/PTSD, and Relationship challenges.
The clients that have done well in my practice have often experienced past trauma and want to positively focus on changing their thoughts and feelings so they can their behavior in order to obtain relief.
My communication style is warm and relaxed but interactive with a focus on providing clients with an engaging environment. It is important that clients are comfortable so they fully engage as they grow to become their best self focusing on their present situation.
