I believe the key to having a good therapeutic outcome, is finding a therapist who you are compatible with. I have honed my skills over the years working with Individuals, Families, Couples, and Children. As a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, I have been specifically educated and trained in working with people on their relationships. My specialty is in treating depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, and grief. As my client, you will unfold at your own rate. Therapy sessions will look different for each person, as we each have different needs. We will work together, towards your goals, in a safe and nonjudgemental place.
My training was in Humanistic Psychology, which emphasizes that we are all unique individuals, not meant to be put in a diagnostic box. I naturally have a warm presence and I believe this helps my clients feel at ease. Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, Attachment Theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy are what primarily guide me.
The Albert Ellis Institute in NYC is where I received Primary Certification in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. I worked at a Community Mental Health Clinic, a Community Day Center, and a large Urban high school. I have done therapy with people who have struggled with various issues, including drugs, PTSD, suicidality, and sexual abuse.

Groups
Self-Empowerment/Boundaries for MiddleSchool Girls
This is an 8 Week Therapy Group for Middle School Girls. In this time of Sexual Harassment towards girls and women, girls will learn tools to handle unwanted physical and emotional advances. This is a Psychoeducational and Experiential Group where participants will be able to share experiences of sexual harassment and "Boundary Crossings." Group leader will also educate girls in their right to feel safe. The leader will model behaviors and participants will role play how to deflect and rid unwanted advances.
