I provide therapy and coaching for neurologically diverse adults and teens who may at times feel challenged, confused or exhausted by the social world. I enjoy helping clients to interpret the 'invisible' rules of social relationships, and to problem-solve practical challenges they may face at home, work, or school. I use EMDR therapy frequently for improving self-regulation, and for processing trauma or other past experiences that may be interfering with clients' daily life. I also provide consultation to parents and caregivers of individuals who are working on social cognition issues.
In addition to my general education in Counseling, I have specialized in the areas of Neurodiversity/Twice Exceptionality and trauma/EMDR therapy. I have also trained in Social Thinking, Special Education, IFS, and a number of other psychotherapy approaches. I work creatively, using a range of strategies to support individuals in reaching their unique goals.
As a certified LifeMAP Coach, I also am available to work with clients who may prefer the "coaching" modality over more therapeutic interventions. Support may address issues such as work conflicts, difficulty managing the demands of school or college, strengthening executive function abilities, managing anxiety, or building self-advocacy skills.
