As a licensed professional counselor who has worked in the field of mental health for more than 8 years, I believe that each person in therapy is ultimately "the one behind the wheel". I feel that there is no one that knows you better than you. Although, having a passenger along the way can certainly help to make sense of the directions. Using a person centered approach, I will work to help you attain independence and insight when it feels as if life has gone awry. I provide therapy from a creative and flexible approach. Sometimes, this means collaborating to identify and solve problems. However, I also appreciate the value in simply having someone to sit with and listen to you. I can help process past or ongoing personal distress, challenge problematic thinking/behaviors and work with you to promote desired growth.
