A Traumatic experience is like an injury and can have a long lasting effect on you and impact the way you perceive and interact in the world. Anyone can experience trauma, it comes in many shapes and forms. If you are an individual experiencing trauma you may have difficulty regulating emotions such as anger, anxiety, sadness and easily feel overwhelmed or numb and shut down. Due to the trauma, our brain operates in a survival mode and finds ways to cope and not always healthy ways. Trauma not only affects our relationship with ourselves but also impacts our relationships with others.
In the therapeutic space, I will provide a safe and supportive environment while we explore how you are impacted by trauma. Through this collaborative process you will expand awareness, grow, heal and as a result cultivate a more adaptive life narrative that will empower and strengthen you.
