Children need and deserve coping mechanisms and strategies in place in order to help them navigate their inner and outer worlds, just like adults. I believe that each child is unique and brings their own strengths to the table. By using play therapy techniques and expressive approaches to build on those strengths, children begin to understand themselves and get in tune with their bodies and emotions to create meaningful change, and therapy becomes approachable, comfortable, and FUN for kids!
My expertise lies in promoting children and adolescents' mental health and well-being as they navigate anxiety, depression, trauma or life/family changes and the emotional and behavioral distress these might cause.
My background as a teacher and experience in a school-counselor role has allowed me to truly dig deep into what children face daily and the holistic support they need in order to have a strong sense of self that they can rely on to manage tough situations.
