My ideal client is someone who is open to working to understand themselves, their world, and their place in it differently. Often times, throughout life, we feel as though there are ways that we "should" or "need to" think, act, feel, and believe. My ideal clients are folks who are willing to look inward to examine these ideas, and whether or not they fit the life they actually want to live. For people who feel out of place in their own lives I hope to be a person that helps them to make sense of things and make the tweaks necessary to enjoy a different measure of fulfillment in life.
My belief is that people have to capacity to change themselves. I view my role as collaborative and through a relational focus, with evidence based interventions I work with individuals and couples to explore areas of struggle. We then work together to identify new paths and behaviors that enable people to live a life that feels more authentic and congruent.
The first step is the most difficult. Most of us (myself included at times) struggle with the idea that we need, want, or deserve help with the things hurting us. Be it shame, addiction, relational problems, or struggles within ourselves or with who we are, my only goal is to come along side people and help them sort it out. Hopefully I can do that for you.
