Just as there is no single model of a person, there is no single model of a solution. I work with the whole person, not only the symptoms, but in a broader, more comprehensive fashion, developing self knowledge of our blind spots. These things that we do that bring us back to the same place, experiencing the same feelings and the depression, anxiety and fear that accompany these states. All we will work with is what you bring to the meetings. A dialogue for understanding and hopefully, change. This can be a long process, as many powerful things can be. It will also be rewarding and it will give you the insight to create your future.
I also offer E.M.D.R. to address specific concerns that are brought to sessions, E.M.D.R. has been shown to be effective in the treatment of some traumas. It assists patients to develop distance from the "shock" of the traumatic events. Rather than feeling "attacked" by our trauma, with E.M.D.R. how we respond is under our control.
The issues that people bring to session are extremely sensitive and personal. My experience working with patients who have suffered in many different ways enables me to hold and help the patient move through and past these troubles, to see them differently, in a new light, without the fear they once held for us. I see this as a privilege of my position.
