Life can be difficult. For children and adolescents it can be especially challenging. As a Registered Play Therapist, I have a passion for utilizing play therapy to help children and adolescents find their full potential. As a certified eating disorders specialist (CEDS) candidate I work with children to adults in the recovery process because recovery is possible. Having someone to help navigate life's difficulties can help one develop positive, healthy coping strategies. Through this process I work with individuals, families, and parents.

I have worked with individuals and couples who are seeking support and guidance to overcome challenges in their day to day life. They may be experiencing a range of symptoms such as constant worry, low mood, lack of motivation, difficulty communicating, or challenges concentrating. Recognizing the importance of their mental health, client is motivated and committed to actively engaging in therapy to improve their overall well-being. Their needs include a safe and non-judgmental environment where they can openly discuss their thoughts and feelings. They seek validation and understanding, as well as practical techniques.

I graduated from the University of South Dakota with my Master of Social Work degree. Throughout my career I have enjoyed working with a variety of clients and have experience with children, adolescents and adults in group, couples and individual therapy. My career has given me the opportunity to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings along with providing telehealth therapy services to individuals across SD.

Life is difficult. With everyday stress such as work, personal life, relationship issues, parenting, etc; it can often seem overwhelming. Having someone to talk to can help one develop positive coping skills. In addition, therapy can help people see how their past unresolved issues can continue to create problems for them in their current life.

As one of South Dakota’s few registered art therapists (ATR), I am dually credentialed and prepared to address both mental health and chemical dependency issues. I enjoy working with creative adults, adolescents, and children using therapeutic discussion, meaningful art making, or both. I am trained in Internal Family Systems through the IFS Online Circle. I have also completed Phase 1 Brainspotting training to address a variety of mental health and trauma-related struggles.

As a therapist pursing my certification as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, I specialize in working with teens and their families, and adults who struggle with symptoms from eating disorders, such as anorexia-nervosa, bulimia, binge eating disorder, over exercising, body dysmorphia, and disordered eating. I also work with adults and teens who have symptoms of anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, and day to day life stressors.
