Creating a rich and meaningful life in the 21st century is more complicated now than ever. Sometimes, personal, work, and family responsibilities are difficult to manage in spite of our best intentions. Stress takes its toll on individuals, couples, and families. Mental and physical health deteriorates, relationships suffer or fall apart, and dreams, once vibrant and alive, fade like an aged photograph. Yet, even an old photograph holds memories of previous dreams, however dim, and can provide the impetus for a hopeful future. I can help you create your future by resolving the past and living in the present.
I am passionate about helping heal and strengthen intimate relationships. My specialties include working with couples, pre-marital and marriage partners, parents and children, and families of diverse form and ethnic heritage. Effective therapy often includes a blend of meeting with the individuals and subsystems that comprise these intimate groups.
Since 1985 I have been in private practice. In December 2019 I retired after 25 years as a professor CSU Northridge to devote full time to my private practice. At CSUN I was a lecturer in Family Studies and one of the Human Sexuality Minor Coordinators. I am trained in the EFT Model of Couple Therapy and am a Certified AASECT Sexuality Educator.
