Hello! To help you choose a therapist that's a good fit, I'll tell you a bit about myself. I've been a licensed therapist for 15 years, with an additional 5 years providing in-home treatment and clinical administration. Although I currently live in Colorado, I spent the first 18 years of my life in Wisconsin and still maintain a close connection with many friends and places. In addition to my Professional Counseling license for mental health, I'm EMDR certified for trauma and I'm a Colorado Licensed Addiction Counselor (this hasn't transferred to Wisconsin yet).
Much of my work is with young adults (and all age adults). I specialize in co-occurring mental health and substance related issues. Through the use of various evidence-based therapy approaches, I have had a lot of success treating anxiety, depression, bi-polar, trauma, addiction, and family/relationship issues.
It's important to have a good fit between you and your therapist. Start with a brief (free) phone consultation with a few different therapists to see who is the most comfortable for you.
