Hello! I’m Dr. Jessica Shine. I am deeply committed to helping you heal from past traumas and navigate the complexities of life’s transitions. My passion is working with diverse individuals to foster growth through a therapeutic relationship characterized by safety, support, and non-judgment. As an LGBTQ+ Affirmative therapist, I prioritize cultural sensitivity and inclusivity, allowing me to tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and backgrounds of each client, enhancing their journey toward healing and personal wellness.

As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist-Candidate and a member of the treatment team at the Center for Sexual and Relational Health, I work with individuals and couples struggling with sexual/pornography addiction, compulsive sexual behaviors, and infidelity. Also certified in Betrayal Trauma, I work with individuals to aid them in the process of identifying, understanding, and healing from the deep, far-reaching, and painful impact caused by an intimate betrayal. In addition, I work with couples to address a wide variety of issues including communication, connection, conflict, friendship building, and enrichment.

I am not currently accepting new clients. I enjoy working with families of teens as they navigate: ADD, behavioral problems, school performance, ASD, managing responsibilities, questions about faith, peer relationships, and issues concerning social media. I also enjoy working with older adults and families providing care for older adults. Throughout life we experience various situations and circumstances which cause us distress. We then adapt to these experiences, with the hope of preventing anymore distress in the future. However, sometimes when we adapt to these circumstances, we adapt in negative ways that may lead to avoidance, anger, isolation, or any other behaviors that could negatively impact daily living, personal relationships, and professional relationships. As a client within therapy, it is important to work on identifying where these maladaptive behaviors started, and working together to seek out positive solutions.
