Some days, chapters, and seasons of life are shadowed by anxiety, depression, grief and despair. We all need a little help, at times, to be reminded of our inner strength and resiliency. You are not alone in your journey. Whether you are seeking peace, healing, guidance, support, or simply a listening ear... the decision to nurture your mental health is one of the most important you will ever make.

Life is often defined by the habits that we have fostered since childhood without even being aware of them. When the painful consequences of those patterns outweighs the pain of learning something new, we look for solutions. The wounds we’ve experienced and the scars we carry with us have shaped our life, they hold meaning. Exploring the patterns that have developed as a result strengthens us. Taking time to invest in our healing process gives us insights that prepare and equip us to successfully navigate the conflicts and opportunities that we cannot avoid in the future.

I am a therapist who believes in empathy, active listening, applying objective, sound knowledge, & encouraging clients to build on the personal insight they gain from therapy. This insight is the summit of growth we are all climbing to reach! My approach is grounded in humanistic principles, valuing the worth & potential of each individual. I view therapy as an eclectic concept, which includes science & biology, philosophy, developmental psychology, culture, & more as a perspective of where a person is & how they got there. I strive to create a safe & non-judgmental space where clients can explore & process their lives.

Saying that the last year has been difficult would be an understatement. So much has changed in all spheres of our lives and we wonder if things will ever be back to normal. Add in other typical life challenges and we feel overwhelmed, worried, exhausted and drained. Of particular concern are our children who aren't typically equipped yet with coping skills to manage times like these. The increase in depression and anxiety children are feeling is significant. Because many of them don't know how to verbalize these feelings, they have meltdowns or act out more than normal. You, as the parent, are at your wits end. Sound familiar?

Daring greatly means the courage to be vulnerable. It means to show up and be seen. To ask for what you need. To talk about how you're feeling. To have the hard conversations-Brene Brown. Does your life feel like it is starting to spiral out of control? Are you tired of fighting alone or feeling unheard or unseen? My passion lies in helping those that are motivated to seek help but might be scared to start. Change can be very hard. I would love to explore that together. I go at the pace that is most comfortable to you. My specialties include ADHD, stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, familial conflict, parenthood and women's issues.

When challenged with keeping up with it all, it is not uncommon to lose sight of who we really are, or what we really want. Through a collaborative and engaging therapeutic relationship where your unique interests are prioritized, perspective & balance can be restored. My niche is working with college students and young professionals, who are motivated to get the most out of life by discovering their authentic selves, defining a road map for future, and developing skills to cope with stress & adversity. Although my work is grounded in evidence-based practices, I have been told that sessions feel like talking to a wise friend.

I believe when you are struggling with traumatic stress, negative-false beliefs often stick and prohibit you from change. Through talk therapy and EMDR, I believe there is a benefit in addressing the issue(s) head on; along with looking in ourselves for processing potentials. Through collaborative work, goals will be met and a more positive, realistic outlook on life will hold true. Traumatic Stress is an intrusion that can manifest within you as any number of symptoms (flashbacks, intense emotions, somatic sensations, nightmares, pervasive life themes, and character styles).

You’re exhausted with trying to live up to everyone's standards. Your partner, your kids, your parents, your work. You feel like you can't get it right and you're just trying to keep it all together. You want to show up better for yourself and your family, but lately just getting through the day is a win. Your inner critic is loud and overpowering, pointing out flaws in yourself every day. You find yourself getting snippy with your family and playing back past frustrations in your head over and over again. You want to be your best for everyone but most days you’re too exhausted. You crave a sense of peace and rest.

Counseling can provide a safe place to find healing and hope from the effects of neglect and abuse, including narcissistic abuse and gaslighting. As a certified narcissistic abuse and certified trauma counselor as well as an Accelerated Resolution Therapy master-level clinician, I can guide you as you seek to understand and heal.

If you had to describe yourself to a stranger, would you use words that indicate value and goodness? Do you feel worthy of love and acceptance from others? Sadly for too many of us, the answer is no. Our confidence dwindles as we navigate difficult life events, transitions, and relationships. While low self-esteem is correlated with depression, anxiety, and low relationship satisfaction - high self-esteem can have physical health benefits, decrease feelings of stress, and increase overall wellbeing in personal and professional capacities.
