I have worked with teens, young adults and their families in inpatient and outpatient treatment settings for over 20 years. I truly enjoy working with the college and young adult age group and all of the unique challenges they encounter. My therapeutic approach is supportive, non-judgmental, and strengths-based. I help clients to examine their concerns, explore their treatment options, and achieve realistic goals.

Howard Malpass is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Supervisor (LPC-S), and Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) who has over 30 years of experience in the mental health field. Howard's initial 5 years of counseling were as a substance abuse counselor in the U.S. Navy. After retiring from the military, he worked as a counselor and clinical supervisor in the substance use disorder and behavioral health fields. Howard has worked with adolescents in a children's home environment (using mainly experiential therapy), as well as with individuals, couples, and families, and many more.

Seeking help can be difficult and finding the right therapist is key. Each individual is unique and deserves individualized treatment. My primary goal is to offer a safe and caring environment in which each client is treated with dignity and respect. I worked within the behavioral and mental health fields for approx. 10 years; with emphasis and specialized training in marriage, family, and couples' therapy, as well as, childhood and family based trauma. I enjoy helping people free themselves from the chaos and shame that come from maintaining unproductive thought patterns, defeated sense of self, and hypercritical expectations from themselves and others. Over 20 years of experience working with adults and young adults who wish to break free from unproductive patterns, anxiety, depression, grief, overwhelm, burnout or the imprint of past traumas. My overarching approach is a Systems Theory model which has become trauma informed after extensive training and practice in trauma work.
