A client calling to make an appointment is admirable. That client is making the step to reach out and get the help that they need. The world can be a tough place and navigating the world can be a challenge. It can also be difficult figuring out yourself and what you are to this world. I want to work with a client with that navigation and teach skills that can help that client be able to cope.
I have experience working with adolescents and adults. This includes working with an adult co-occurring population with substance abuse and mental health disorders. As well as working with adolescents on issues revolving around anxiety, self-harming, stress and depression. I use an eclectic approach, utilizing multiple modalities of therapy.
My focus is to have a egalitarian relationship with my clients. I aim to help guide clients with what is impacting their life by utilizing empathy, teaching coping mechanisms, and psycho-education to name a few. I believe therapy not only involves the work with the counselor, but how you implement that work into daily life.
