I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of disordered eating, depression, and anxiety in both adolescents and adults. I operate an evidence-based practice, which means I utilize treatments based on scientific research. I have extensive training in these methods from Harvard University and McLean Hospital. Most often I practice cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which focuses on changing thoughts and behavior patterns as a way to improve mood and well-being. I always individually tailor treatment and use a collaborative approach focused on your short and long term goals.
I view therapy as an important, collaborative partnership between the psychologist and the client. Because you will be exerting a considerable amount of your time, energy, and money in this process, it is imperative that you are comfortable with your therapist.
While in MA, I held positions at both McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School. I have published research on the clinical correlates of self-injurious behaviors (broadly defined), body image, eating disorders, treatment effectiveness, and borderline personality disorder. I currently operate a private practice in West Hartford, CT.
