Hello, my name is Sarah Lowe. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have been practicing therapy for the past five years. I have worked with a variety of clients from young kids to older adults. My most common approach to therapy is cognitive behavioral therapy. I have treated clients with various diagnoses, and I’ve received specific training in trauma focused therapy. I mostly use cognitive behavioral therapy as my approach in sessions. I tend to also use strengths based perspective, and motivational interviewing. I’ve also had experience utilizing trauma focused therapy.
My journey to becoming a therapist began when I was a young girl. My family fostered other children, leading to my first encounter with therapy. I’ve been known I wanted to help people just like that. Therapists had helped me and my foster siblings. The love for helping others through their trauma and struggles then fueled my career.
I encourage clients to set goals by empowering them to identify what they want to achieve in therapy. I discuss their symptoms and areas of improvement and then form a plan with them to achieve their goals.
