Now accepting clients! Aetna and United and many more. Are you tired of your past creating your present? Done with anxiety and panic attacks and avoiding all people and things that "trigger" you? Feeling better is not as easy as just changing how you think- if it was we would not get stuck like we do. My work with individuals takes time and is all client-driven- there is no push to work on any one topic. I have found that comfortable conversation and creating a strong and safe relationship at the beginning of treatment leads to some of the best and most successful therapeutic work.

My role is to create a safe enough environment for you to be your authentic self, first in therapy and then showing up authentically with those around you. Because no person is an island and most interact with others everyday, therapy can help you transition out of social awkwardness and isolation into enriched and fulfilling interpersonal relationships. I have been promoting mental health professionally since 1998. I value ethical conduct, accessible pricing, effective interventions, and practical methods in psychotherapy practice. Please only email or call me but do not go to my website and book an appointment!

Hello there! I believe every person wields the inner power to experience true joy & fulfillment but often life deals us a difficult hand to play. Many times we feel stuck in thought or behavior loops that once kept us safe but may not contribute to our thriving any longer. I hope that by, working together, you will begin to experience freedom from unhelpful voices & freedom to live in wholeness & peace.

Let me pour you a cup of tea or coffee, and let’s talk. Many perceive therapy as missing the opportunity to truly connect with the therapist as real people. It often feels like a professional exchange rather than a personal interaction. I’m here to guide you toward solutions and personal transformation. Let’s make this process both effective and enriching. Reaching out to a therapist might feel daunting, but I encourage you to pause, take a deep breath, and make that call. I’m here to assist. My greatest passion is cultivating healing and hope for individuals who have been or are undergoing traumatic/stressful experiences.

It can be intimidating to enter (or re-enter) therapy with someone new, and face areas of our lives that we’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, shameful, stressed, or fearful about. My approach is client-centered, compassionate, and non-judgmental. I will collaborate with you to provide effective tools for coping in the present, opportunities to safely explore the past, and to build hope, satisfaction, and joy for your future. I value working with clients facing all kinds of difficulties, from everyday stressors to larger concerns.

Do you ever feel like the past is dragging around behind you, making it hard to move forward? While the past may shape you, it does not have to define you. Everything that has happened in the past helps to create who you are, but you have the power to create who you will be. Getting through past traumas, whether they be big or small, can be a daunting task. As you navigate the various paths available to you in life, I can help you create your own map. Depression, anxiety, trouble adjusting to new life circumstances, and grief can all feel like stones in a backpack that drags you down. I can help you lighten the load.

My passion is to provide opportunity for growth and healing through multiple avenues. I have a connection to narrative and cognitive behavior therapy which can be applied in a traditional office setting or through equine assisted therapy. I have walked through my own healing from divorce and trauma and found a passion to support others’ finding their path for healing. I support a "team" approach to counseling and if it's appropriate and safe, I prefer to include parents/caregivers in goals and support for their child.

Wow I feel refreshed", "Amazing". These are some of the comments made to me by clients. As an EMDR Therapy practitioner & Neurofeedback Technician, I love helping the "kids who grew up, survive and thrive" because they KNOW they can do, live and love more. My clients Laugh more and Live more fully, sooner and sometimes for the first time in their lives. EMDR Therapy and Neurofeedback cannot be used in conjunction with EMDR psychotherapy. However, Neurofeedback enhances brain retraining non-medically. The 45 mins of rest-time works beautifully

Life is messy and turbulent. Sometimes we can’t find the right words to express our inner experiences. I utilize experiential and developmentally appropriate interventions to join clients in navigating the storms until we reach steady waters and clearer skies. Through art making and play, we process what we may not have the vocabulary to discuss yet.

Welcome! Sometimes the first step in overcoming challenges in life, is reaching out for help. I have 26 year of experience and offer a compassionate, empathetic, and an insightful environment. Life can often be difficult and stressful. We may have entered into a relationship with promise, love, and excitement for the future. And yet as time goes on, the challenges, or life's turn of events, can shadow that loving relationship with pain and frustration. Or perhaps, individually we are struggling with personal issues, current events, poor coping skills from family of origins, or life's stresses. I am here to help you!

Living with anxiety and depression can lead to feeling exhausted and joyless. I use several different methods to treat those symptoms in adult women, teenagers, and children aged 12 and up. My goal is to help people learn to work through what is causing the anxiety and depression and learn coping skills so that they can enjoy life again. Other focuses of mine are women going through parenting challenges and life transitions and college students and their life transitions, and insomnia. Sleep is so important and can affect mental health on a daily basis.

The decision to come to therapy is courageous, vulnerable, and a huge step towards change. Taylor (she/her) tailors her work with clients to the individual because she believes that no one knows you or your story better than yourself. Taylor prioritizes establishing a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative relationship with her clients, as she believes that genuine relationships and connections can cultivate growth and healing. She approaches all her clients with cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and systemic awareness. She aims to work in collaboration, so clients can identify what goals you would like to work toward.

Have you ever asked yourself, why do I keep getting involved in unhealthy relationships? Or do you feel stuck and not sure how to move forward? It may be time to stop focusing on the problem and focus on the solution instead. In my process I help clients remember when they were in a good place. In our sessions we will utilize your strengths, resources and hopes to help you get to a good place again and have the ability to move forward in your life. If you are looking for a bias and judge-free space for you to express your emotions I can provide a safe place to talk.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Colorado Springs?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
