Having spent over a decade working in University Counseling Centers, I enjoy working with individuals at points in their life of growth or transition, whether forced upon them or chosen. Change is hard, when it's chosen and even more so when it's not. Having support can empower you to use the momentum created by change to create the life you want for yourself, instead of feeling overwhelmed and paralyzed by all that life changes require. Whether in a moment of distress or a desire to grow beyond the past, I value the opportunity to support clients in finding choices that allow them to live a more balanced and genuine life.
I adopt a collaborative approach, to ensure we are addressing goals that are valuable and relevant to you. As a Fellow in Thanatology (FT) I specialize in issues surrounding grief and loss, and utilize a grief-informed lens in all of my work with clients. I also utilize a trauma-informed lens to avoid pathologizing normative responses to trauma and loss.
My work is rooted in my belief that there is healing power in connection and in sharing your story. I work to provide an affirming space to explore your experiences and challenges in a more nuanced and compassionate manner. My hope is to offer the opportunity to feel less alone in your struggle, while also offering practical strategies for coping and growth.
