Looking for a therapist can be a daunting experience. No matter where you are in your search it is important to find the person you can trust, be vulnerable with, and who meets your needs. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches because progress is a journey and those needs will change along the way. My style of therapy is direct, honest, and compassionate. But I also appreciate the importance of humor.
In my practice, I have worked with clients who have mood, anxiety, and personality disorders, as well as ADHD. I also specialize in trauma, wherein I use EMDR (Training Certified by the Institute for Creative Mindfulness) and other trauma informed care to help process the events.
Interventions I regularly use in my practice are: DBT, CBT, ACT, stages of change, and the mind and body connection. I enjoy continuing to expand my knowledge of other disorders and interventions. I believe everyone can benefit from therapy. You do not need a formal diagnosis to understand your symptoms, behaviors, thoughts, and emotions.
