Caring for and older adult with whom you have a relationship can be quite complicated, regardless of how good the quality of the relationship is or has been. The emotional and physical demands of caring for older adults are often overlooked and underestimated and I am here to help support you during the ups and downs of this journey. By support for caregivers who are working through the complexity of their caregiving role, I can help them maintain their sense of self-worth, integrity, and identity.
Since 2004, I have been working with older adults and their caregivers in a variety of settings (inpatient psychiatric care, hospice, palliative care, and bereavement). I offer a combination of consultation, counseling, coaching, and bereavement support for caregivers while they navigate complex health conditions and health care systems.
Living in a society that does not recognize the importance of informal caregivers can further perpetuate confusion, stigma, and loneliness for caregivers.
